JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • This position supports all revenue cycle functions and contributes to overall financial health of the organization through the use of metric-driven methodologies and a variety of data analytic reporting tools.
  • This role will work closely with Emory Healthcare Finance Department and Patient Financial Services to identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and track organizational performance.
  • This position manages the team responsible for the development and maintenance of the portfolio of reports distributed to leaders across the organization to support business and financial decisions.
  • MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISION: Responsible for the direct supervision of a team of analysts who will develop, deploy, and maintain both scheduled and ad-hoc reports in support of the financial health of assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Will be expected to oversee the day-to-day operations of the department and successfully manage employee performance.
  • Provides on-going performance feedback, addresses problems, hires, orients and trains employees.
  • Plans, schedules, and prioritizes work assignments based on the needs of the departments and internal customers.
  • Demonstrates understanding of how to manage resources across an organization to maximize positive financial impacts across multiple Clinical sections or in hospital PFS.
  • REPORTING & DATA MANAGEMENT: Designs complex data analysis tools and sophisticated reports.
  • Must be data savvy and demonstrate the ability to mine data from a variety of tools and applications.
  • Will develop, deploy, and automate both scheduled and ad-hoc reports of a complex nature in support of the financial health of assigned area(s) of responsibility (Clinical sections or Hospital PFS).
  • Must understand and demonstrate database structures, data relationships, and dependencies, and be successful at merging data from multiple sources.
  • Provides and analyzes data and makes recommendations for improved efficiencies in revenue cycle functions Identify and build custom reports, identify trends, document project progression and provide analysis for current initiatives as well as in support of overall financial health.
  • Perform proactive and ad hoc analyses and provide recommendations for process improvement opportunities to increase revenue &/or reduce expenses within a given department and across the organization.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Health, Mathematics, Engineering, Science or related program with strong emphasis on analytics, information systems, and critical thinking, plus 5+ years of experience in health care provider data reporting (clinical workflow and/or data, financial/revenue cycle data and workflow, or both) and analytics or financial data reporting; OR Master's Degree in above areas plus 4+ years of related experience.
  • At least 2 years facilitation experience (meeting or workshop facilitation) and ad hoc reporting tools, online-analytics processing (OLAP) and/or data discovery tools.
  • Must have demonstrated skills in data base reporting, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must have demonstrated strength in data integrity processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills , including the ability to teach analytical concepts.
  • Sound decision-making skills and strong customer service focus.
