Electronic ICU nursing is an area of innovation and technological support for critical care staff, patients, and families. We utilize audio and visual capabilities in addition to trending real time analytic data, to provide a second layer of protection for patients in the critical care environment. Electronic ICU supports bedside ICU staff in caring for patients and increasing quality outcomes for those patients. This is a very interactive, integrated role, and collaboration with ICU staff is an integral part of the role.

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

Responsibilities will heavily rely on clinical experience and knowledge as well as customer service skills in the delivery of remote intensive care services where monitoring systems are used to:
• Monitor critically ill patients and clinical data.
• Provide critical care and clinical expertise to bedside nurses behind a camera from a remote location.
• Maximize technology in order to detect trends in patient data.
• Identify instability and communicate with bedside ICU care providers and patients

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN Required.
  • Minimum 5 years critical care experience with most recent in the last 2 years.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • CCRN preferred or preparing.
  • Familiarity with technology and the use of different software applications a must.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Medium-Heavy) 36-75 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 20-35 lbs, 34-66% of the workday; (frequently); 10-20 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 75 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 35 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking; Occasional sitting; Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing); Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure; Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors; Communicable diseases; Electrical shock; Floor Surfaces; Hot/Cold Temperatures; Indoor/Outdoor conditions; Latex; Lighting; Patient care/handling injuries; Radiation; Shift work; Travel may be required; Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators; environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
