This position is located at Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital and is a day shift position with working hours of 9:30 am-6 pm.
- The BMET I is an entry-level position for technicians completing their technical training.
- The BMETI should strive to learn about all classes of clinical equipment and their applications while performing duties as assigned by the manager.
- The BMET I should also become attuned to the hospital organization, especially as it relates to the biomedical engineering function. They should work to develop good human relation skills in the execution of their duties.
- Duties include, but are not limited to, inspections of biomedical equipment for completeness, proper operation, mechanical and electrical safety.
- Performs modifications and repairs of general equipment and minor repairs of complex equipment.
- Assists other technicians in the troubleshooting and major repair of complex equipment.
- BMET I reports to the manager of medical engineering.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's Degree or Diploma in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Electronic Technology or equivalent military training is preferred.
- The BMET I may have less than one month experience in BMET or clinical related fields.
- Knowledge of electronics and electricity as it relates to the repair and inspections of biomedical instrumentation.
Job Qualifications
Bio Med Tech I-III, Salary: $22.10/hour-$45.47/hour. The grade and salary of the position are based on specific criteria met within the qualifications of each level, relevant experience, skills, performance and internal equity. This position is eligible for shift differentials.
