An exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to support invasive cardiology operations at Emory Healthcare's flagship invasive cardiology site!

This role will work with a tenured Cardiology Services Director to support operational excellence and optimal patient outcomes in a footprint that includes two Hybrid OR's (constructed in 2019), two cath labs, two EP labs and a 20-bed cardiac observation area. There are four shift nurse managers and an invasive cardiology educator in place to assist with daily operations. Case mix includes high-acuity and complex structural, electrophysiology and coronary cases with a strong research presence and dedicated anesthesia support.

Plans, directs, implements, and monitors operations, including management of staff and assigned projects related to Cardiology Procedural Operations including management of staff and assigned projects. Focus will include procedural operations associated with Cath Lab, EP Lab, and Cardiac Observation Area (COA). Develops and implements operational goals and objectives. Supervises staff and monitors performance metrics to ensure continuity and consistency in patient care. Identifies and evaluates new procedures or services. Evaluates and recommends new equipment or equipment modifications. Identifies workflow and system changes necessary for service addition or modification. Manages compliance and accreditation requirements , including Joint Commission and Magnet accreditation for procedural operations within Cardiology. Serves as a collaborative liaison between Cardiology Procedural Operations and partners in Inpatient units, PGP, and Hospital Service Lines. Ensures services provided are consistent with company policies, service standards, and applicable laws and regulations. Manages budgetary responsibilities and obligations, salary expense, and supply costs. Utilizes budget information in management decision-making. Identifies and assists in development and revision of nursing practice and patient care standards. Maintains records on departments' personnel activities and processes. Maintains integrity and confidentiality of management and clinical information. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements continuing education and skills competency. Serves as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff. Maintains open and positive communication with staff, physicians, and other partners while building positive working relationships and managing conflict. Ensures UPC's for procedural areas are integrating requirements, recommendations and process changes into nursing practice. Ensures representatives attend the entity based councils. Manages day to day procedural operations for Cath, EP, and COA. Supports overall operational service lines to include Heart and Vascular as well as Procedural. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Nursing Degree required. Master's Nursing degree preferred.
  • Valid GA RN license.
  • Five (5) years cardiology nursing experience and two (2) years cardiology leadership/supervisory experience. Previous experience leading Cardiology procedural operations preferred.
